What we collect, why, and how it's stored — last updated October 2026
What we collect
HanapHub is built to be light on data. We collect:
- Email address — only if you join the seeker or employer waitlist.
- Company name — if you sign up via /for-companies.
- Your Google profile — only if you choose to sign in with Google (an optional account, offered where sign-in is switched on). Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us; we store those three. We never see your Google password, we don't keep Google access tokens, and we don't request access to Gmail, Contacts, Drive or any other Google data.
- Saved jobs, tracked applications and preferences — if you have an account: the jobs you save, the applications you choose to track (their status and any notes you write), and whether you'd like a weekly job digest. Only you can see them.
- Sign-in session — if you have an account: a session record with the IP address and browser (user agent) it was created from, used to keep you signed in and to protect your account. Sessions expire 30 days after your last visit or when you sign out.
- Job view & bookmark counts — aggregated, not tied to your identity. We increment a per-job counter.
- IP address — held transiently by Cloudflare's edge network for rate-limiting (5–60 requests/min depending on endpoint). Not stored in our database, except on your sign-in session record if you have an account.
We do not run analytics, fingerprinting, or behavioural-tracking scripts. If advertising is enabled, Google's ad code may use cookies as described under Cookies & advertising below.
Where it's stored
All persistent data lives in a Cloudflare D1 database in Cloudflare's network. Static assets and the application itself are served by Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare acts as our processor.
Some preferences (your saved filter, viewed jobs, bookmarks) live in your browser's storage (localStorage and IndexedDB) on this device. Without an account they never leave your device. If you sign in, jobs you save are also stored with your account, and when you first sign in on a device we offer — never automatically — to copy that device's bookmarks to your account.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. Everything on HanapHub works without one; an account only keeps your saved jobs across devices and gives you a private application tracker.
We use Better Auth to run sign-in on our own Cloudflare Worker, with Google as the only sign-in method. HanapHub accounts are plain job-seeker accounts: no public profile, nothing visible to employers.
The weekly digest switch in Settings only records your preference. We don't send account emails yet, and we'll ask again before any digest goes out.
Saved jobs follow the listing: after a job expires it stays in your list marked as no longer available, and it drops off your list when we delete the old listing (about 60 days after it was posted). Tracked applications keep their job title and company, so your tracker is not affected.
Deleting your account: open Settings and choose Delete account. That immediately removes your account, its sessions, its Google sign-in link, your saved jobs, tracked applications and preferences from our database. Bookmarks and history kept in this browser stay until you clear them on the Profile page. To also remove HanapHub's access from your Google account, visit Google Account connections.
What we never do
- Sell your email or any personal data.
- Share your data with anyone except infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare, and Google when you choose to sign in with it. When ads are enabled, Google receives information directly from your browser as described above.
- Build cross-site profiles of you ourselves.
Your rights
If you have an account, you can delete it and all its data yourself under Settings. You can also ask us to delete your waitlist record or account, export your data, or correct it at any time. Email hello@hanaphub.com and we will action the request within 30 days.
